Chief Jeff Bunn

     In 1983 Chief Bunn started as a Firefighter / Medic with the Citrus Heights Fire District, Sacramento County California.  In 1987 Chief Bunn became a Correctional Pease Officer II with the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office, starting his career in Law Enforcement. Chief Bunn During this time also worked with the Sonoma County Regional Parks as a Law Enforcement Ranger.        

       Chief  Bunn relocated his family to Iowa in 1993. He joined the Toledo Police Department as a Patrolman, until joining the State Center Police Department as Chief in 1998.

        Chief Bunn is a graduate of Camino Baptist Academy, Del Campo High School and the 153rd Basic Academy at the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy.  Chief Bunn has completed numerous certification courses throughout his career.

         He has strived to provide and improve services in State Center by implementing the first reserve officer program with an approved staff of five reserve officers. Under Chief Bunn the department has increased by gaining a regularly scheduled part-time officer and two marked patrol cars.

         Chief Bunn is married and has two sons. He has devoted 20 + years of his life to pubic service and continues to be dedicated in serving.

Sergeant J. Hunter

     Sgt. Hunter started his interest in Law enforcement with the Ames Police Explorer's as a teen. He attended Ellsworth Community College and received a degree in Criminal Justice. He started his career with the Stuart Police Department in 2001. He attended the 188 Basic at the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy in 2002. He worked for the Madrid Police Department as a patrolman and public relations officer. He is currently a Part-time officer for the Gilman Police Department in addition to his duties at SCPD.  Sergeant Hunter is a Certified DARE instructor.  Sgt. Hunter specializes in community relations and crime prevention.  Sgt. Hunter oversees the Reserve Officer Program at SCPD.

 

Police Reserve Officers

      The Reserve program is a non-paid position that provides support to the Police Department. Reserve officers assist officers in their day to day duties, provide additional personnel for  special events and times of need. Reserve officers receive police training and have the same law enforcement powers as Certified Officers do when on the job.  Reserves receive training in weapons, defense, enforcing the Code of Iowa and on the job training.

 

 

Reserve officer Brian Newton

Reserve Officer Newton is a certified reserve officer. He has been with our department since 2003.

 

Reserve Officer Debbie Millizer

 

Reserve Officer Millizer is our newest reserve officer. Officer Millizer has been with our department since 2005.
