State Center Fire & EMS...

The State Center Fire & EMS is committed to the extinguishment of fires, protection of life and property, and providing needed medical services to the people of State Center and surrounding communities.

Our 48-member department consists of 12 EMT/Firefighters and 36 firefighters.  We respond to an average of 50-60 fires/accident calls and an average of 100 EMS calls each year.  In addition, we volunteer about 3900 hours of training per year.  Our EMS is a Conditional EMT-B Transport squad, providing backup ambulance service to the Marshalltown Area Paramedic Service.

We are a dedicated group of individuals providing the best service possible to our community.

A few facts about our department for the 2007 year through October 9th...
We have responded to 134 Fire & EMS calls
We put in 977 manhours at these calls along with 2504 training hours
Average response time to the scene was 7.1 minutes
Remember that each and every one of these volunteers donate their time to protect the people and property of this district without any compensation of any kind.

Annual Dance
Each year, the State Center Fire & EMS conduct a fund drive to support our many activities throughout the year and to purchase firefighting supplies that are not otherwise available for the department. We appreciate your past and present support in keeping our department one of the best Volunteer Departments in the state. We recently took 2nd place at the annual Firefighter Competition in September of 2007. Our Annual Dance was held this year on November 10, 2007 at the Lincoln Valley Clubhouse with music by the band Country Road. Thank you to all who attended and donated to make this year's event such a success.
