State Center is the home of the West Marshall School District.  The Pre-K, Elementary, Middle, and High Schools are all located in State Center. West Marshall schools serve the communities of Clemons, Lamoille, Melbourne, Rhodes, St. Anthony, and State Center.

With approximately 860 students enrolled in kindergarten through high school, students are able to receive individual attention yet are offered a wide range of classes and activities. The ratio of students to teachers is 14:1, which leads to more attention given to the students as individuals.

West Marshall schools prepare students for the future. Over 90% of the graduates go on to further their education. The high school offers a wide variety of elective courses while maintaining a high expectation in core courses. Elective courses include foreign language, vocational education, agriculture education, and students are given the opportunity to attend classes at nearby Marshalltown Community College.
