Solar Project

State Center, the Rose Capital of Iowa, has a long and cherished history. For years, the residents have worked hard to preserve the unique history of their town. While they’ve tirelessly protected their past, the community of State Center has also discovered a way to develop a better future for the town. In 2017, State Center Municipal Utilities and Simpleray (called Iowa Wind and Solar at the time) worked together to design an extensive solar array to help power the town. Before the end of the year, the array had been installed and commissioned.

Since the completion of the array, the residents of State Center have enjoyed clean, renewable power from their municipal utility which has helped to stabilize their energy rates.

By utilizing renewable energy, State Center’s residents have begun to forge a sustainable future for their community.
