Eckhardt Enterprises is a family-owned business that has been in State Center since 1935, specializing in all types of insurance and income tax preparation. Owner Mikel Eckhardt started in the business May of 1978 and is now retired. However, you may catch him still at the office occasionally. His brother, Jim Eckhardt, has been in the business since May of 1977 and will assist every customer with their insurance needs along with income tax preparation. Lisa Green has been with Eckhardt Enterprises since 1996 and has all her insurance licenses which allows her to sell any type of insurance. She is the Office Manager, along with selling insurance and doing income tax preparation. Karen Frohwein joined the business in January of 2019 as the important front office Customer Service Representative. She can answer many of the tax and insurance questions our customers might have.

My Dinosaur Dreams Flower Company started back in 2015 with handmade paper and fabric/burlap flowers. We moved on to using mostly eco-friendly wood flowers and dried/preserved greenery and fillers - but still make custom paper book flowers or comic flowers. Our Roses for Readers program allows us to donate each year to the grade school Scholastic Book Fair to buy a new book for each 5th grader at the Fair - a cause that is close to our heart!  (Roses for Readers available in shop!) We specialize in wedding florals but do all sorts of custom work as well - from nurseries, baby showers, school dances, funerals, and other events. Our bouquet bar can be visited in shop or rented for your event - what better way to say “thank you” than to send everyone home with a pretty custom painted flower? Stop in and see me during shop hours or reach out to mydinosaurdreams@gmail.com for more information! Visit our website to see what crafting workshops and kits we have available!
